BEST REAL ESTATE BROKER
2018
On January 27, 2019, IndependentConsumerReview announced it's
JUST THE BEST REAL ESTATE BROKER Awards for 2018 in Contra Costa County, Napa County and Solano County.
For the fifth year in a row,
California Magic Real Estate pulled down the "Just The Best" Real Estate Broker award.
Since it's inception in 2004, California Magic Real Estate has made a commitment to providing their customers in San Ramon, Concord, Napa, Vallejo, Fairfield and all throughout the San Francisco Bay Area with the best service and the most return on their seller net sheet. The year 2018 was no exception.
Owner James Smith has been a licensed Real Estate Agent since 1994, working for traditional brick-and-mortar Real Estate brokerages in Fremont, Hayward and Pleasanton until 2004. During that time, he furthered his Real Estate knowledge, ataining his Real Estate Broker license in 2004 and opening his own company, California Magic Real Estate, then.
"I could never understand while I was working for someone else is why a homeowner would choose to pay more for the same service that could be offered cheaper elsewhere," Smith said. "Real Estate sales are based on a cooperation between a cooperation between 'Listing Agents', the Agents that represent the seller, and 'Selling Agents', who ironically represent the buyer. If a Listing Agent can sell a home for the same price while charging less commission, I don't see why a seller would choose another option. Everybody likes money."
Smith says while he suggests the seller keep the commission the same for the Selling Agent, he lowers his commission as a Listing Agent in order for the seller to receive a higher return on the sale of their home.
He says lowering his commission makes sense because he essentially does not "have to fight" for Listings, making his job much easier. "The traditional high Listing Agent commission has the difficulty of an Agent actually getting business factored in. Some Agents go on several appointments before they get a seller to sign a contract. Since our commissions are so low, I typically get more clients than my competition, and, as an unintended consequence, gain more exprience than said competition."
